well there are maryland programs that can assit.  They will help with rent and even " christmas"  .  But if you ask me i think that you should be focusing on needs and not wants.  christmas is a holiday.  your life expenses should be priority.  if thats what u are teaching you children then i pray for them .

First week, my beloved pet died and my husband passed away.Second week, My mom was diagnosed with uncurable cancer. Third week, I lost my job as a vet tech. Hello all.  I hope this posting finds all who read it in good spirits, good health, and filled with Christmas-time cheer.  My name is DeLayne Stewart, I am a single father of three, and I need a blessing.  I was recently laid off from my job 2 weeks before thanksgiving shortly before moving into our ranch apartment.  All of my money went towards utilities, a phone, a refrigerator, a stove, and various moving expenses.  I was only making $10.95 per hour, but I was making too much too get assistance.  I have full custody of my two boys DeLavonte' and DeLayne Jr., and share custody of my 7 year old daughter, MeLayna, with her mom.  My children are very humble and not strangers to second hand or lightly used items.  My daughter told me she doesnt care if her toys arent "all the way" new... as long as they are " a lil " new.  If anyone can help with any used electronic items that a 13 year old and a 12 year old (boys) might be interested in PLEASE email me.  Any used Dora, Bratz, doll babies or girls clothing size 8-10 would also be appreciated.  As I have said we are a humble family and will feel blessed if ANYONE responds at all.  God Bless You All and Thank You.   HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I am a single mother of 3; all my paycheck used to go to bills; now I cannot even cover that much. My wages have started being garnished because my ex-husband decided to quit paying on his truck and it was repossessed. They were having problems tracking him down, so they have tracked me down. My pay was cut nearly in half and now, I cannot cover all my bills. I worry that I will get evicted come the 15th. I do not have the full rental payment. My gas was turned off, we have no heat for the winter and the house phone also was shut off. We watch a tv that only catches 3 channels. I am working, trying my best, I will not quit my job and sit back and let the government do it for me (It would be much easier to collect wellfare and unemployment, but I want to do for myself.). I have to teach my kids what is respectable.  I just need a little help. My kids will get nothing for Christmas. I just hope we still have a home. Hey everyone, this is my first time on here, I got this site off the computer. I really don't know what I am supposed to put, but here it goes; I am a single mother of three boys. Two of them are going to be adopted by me. I was blessed with the first one three years ago and the other a year ago. Their mother is my cousin who is addicted to crack cocaine and heroine. They were both born addicted to drugs and alcohol. But by the Grace of GOD they are maneging. I took them in because they are my family and I didn't want them to go into the foster care system. I am on a DSHS assistance and recieving food stamps. Because I'am going to school so I can give all my boys a better life. I just started college this Summer. I wasn't sure this was the right thing for me at first. but then I realized it was the right thing for my family. Iam doing the best that I can, its just this year is alot harder with three children, going to school, living of welfare (not for long.) and trying to keep the lights on and the gas for heat and  by my children what they need. but during the holidays every child deserves something special. This year I want to get them presents but finacially I am just over broke. My foodstamps will cover Thanksgiving and also going to the foodbanks, but most of the places that help with CHristmas are already full. if anyone knows of any places that can help me give my family a great Christmas I would be soooo greatful and Blessed. Hello my name is Michelle and I am a single mom of 5 kids 3 of which are mine and 2 that I took guardianship of in August of this year their ages are 15(boy), 15(girl), 13(boy),12(girl, & 10(girl). It has been a rough year a good friend of mine keeps having strokes so I took guardianship of her girls and have 3 children of my own then I found out that the tumor in my head was getting larger( on the pituitary gland) causing bad headaches and vision problems. Wow, tears just started flowing here. I'm too a single Mom of two boys. The older one is a bit understanding of our situation, the youngest is at the age where he's teetering on believing in Santa or not. He'll learn it by next Monday. To all God's angels and Santa's helpers I am writing for the first time ever to ask for help this Christmas. I am a disabled single mother of 3. I have a mentally challenged, ADHD, and epileptic 8 year old daughter. My son is 10 and has ADD, and has been trying so hard this year to do well in school, and we were so proud of his first quarter report card that had all A's and B's instead of F's. I am so proud of him. My eldest daughter is suffering from an medical condition as well. On top of all this my mother was just diagnosed with cancer and has been in the hospital for the last 5 weeks. Our Thanksgiving was spent in the hospital. While at school all the children talked about their wonderful family thanksgiving dinner. My children had to say they had hospital food. Christmas looks as though it's going to be the same as Thanksgoving if not worse. I have always struggled but with God's help I was always been able to provide a decent Christmas, but this year I am so far behind in all of my bills and with going back and forth to Evanston Hospital and parking being $9 dollars a day has set me back even more. My entire income has went dtrictly on that. Fortunatley my landlord is giving me time, but the phone, lights, gas, and other bills are not so caring. I never thought I'd had to ask for help but this year I need it "despretay". It breaks my heart to think on chrismas morning the children will wake up and run to the tree like always and their will be nothing under it. I'm afraid it will brek their spirit and they will think that santa has fofgotten them. They will think they were naughy and not nice, they will start blaming themselves. When we say our prayers at night they always ask God to help those in need, In their letter to Santa not only do they ask what they want but they always ask for someone else's need as well. They are good kids, and I won't know how to explain to them why santa didn't come. Hello and Merry Christmas to all! I am a married mother of 2 wonderful teenage daughters who have physical and mental disabilities. My husband only brings in 200.00 a week before taxes and I receive SSI Disability, medicaid, and foodstamps. This year has hit us very hard, and we are unable to buy anything for our girls for Christmas. Our oldest is Kalina and she just turned 15 on Dec. 4th. She has diabetes, ADHD, Bipolar 2 disorder, and was recently diagnosed with compulsive eating disorder. She has been in and out of the hospital so much in her lifetime that we jokingly tell the staff at our local hospital that she should have a permanent room with her name on the door. Our youngest is Amanda (Mandy for short) and she will be 14 on Jan. 11th. She has a heart problem (Mitral Valve Prolapse w/regurgitation), ADHD, Bipolar 2 disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. They are both on medications for most of these. I can't seem to find any help in our area for them for Christmas. Most places tell me that they don't meet the age requirements because they are too old. They still deserve a Christmas. We don't even have a Christmas tree or decorations. It just doesn't seem fair that they have to suffer because we have hit hard times. They are so kindhearted. Just this year at our church, our oldest requested Christmas help for a needy family she knows of, even though she knows we don't have the money to afford Christmas ourselves. She is always thinking of everyone else first. Our youngest wants to donate blankets to the homeless in our area, but we don't even have a way to do that for her. These giving children need help this year. If we can get ourselves back on our feet, hopefully by next Christmas, we can be on the other end and help a family or two out. Please consider helping us. Kalina is 15, and wears a 2-3X shirt and size 22-24W in pants. She is 5'10. She wears a size 11 1/2 to a 12 wide womens shoe. hi i am a married father of 4 small children. Christina 8yr Allison 8yr Alecia 7 and Tommy 2yr on September 26 2006 our house burned down me and my daughters where trapped on the 2nd floor, while the fire and smoke ingulfed the the first room and the hallway steps I had too drag my daughters threw the flames and smoke to get them out the back door, thank GOD we got out unharmed!!!! But it has been so very hard tring to start anew, we had no insurance to cover the house or our belongings, we lost almost everything we owned either by the flames or by the smoke damage, all the kids christmas presents that we had struggled to buy all year went up in somke, we are so desperat for help this christmas we dont even have enought money to pay all of our bills... what little money we get goes right back out the door for gas food clothing etc. we have applied for food stamps but they take so long to get, and im disabled from a car accident and ssi keeps denying me (they say that third times a charm well lets hope so) and my wife had total acl reconstruction on the 7th of november and the doctor said that the recovery time could be as long as 9 months. I really need someones help. My husband was in a car accident that has made him perm. disabled. I'am the only one with a income, and barely paying are rent. We have no money to buy our daughter christmas presents. We joke with our daughter all year about if your not good Santas going to bring u coal. My name is Charlisse Green. The reason that I am writing to you is because when I was nine years old, I had an accident on my bicycle. I rode down a hill, fell and broke my jaw and teeth. The doctor told m mom that he would help her to fix everything, but they didn’t fix it right. I really need your help to get my mouth fixed so that I can begin to talk right again and to look normal. The main reason that I need your help is because I am tired of people talking about me and my mouth. They hurt my feelings, but I don’t say anything to them anymore. I just try to keep going. Now, I am 17 years old. My mother asked me if I had any friends at school and I told her that I have ‘someone to talk to’. I say that because one minute, they are my friend, and the next, they talk behind my back, calling me names and picking at the way I talk and look. When I talk, it sounds like I am deaf because of the way that my mouth is. As a result, I have been placed in special classes at school. I have faith that you will help me. Some of the things that you do make me cry because they touch my heart. I am praying that you will be able to make my wish come true because I am tired of people talking about me everyday. When I look in the mirror, I see who I am, but no one else can see the real me. They talk about me everyday. Not one day, but EVERY day. So, I decided to write on my own, hoping that you and your staff will find it in your hearts to help me. If you only knew how I feel, I know that you will help me. People say that I am ugly.
